• The Accutest LH Ovulation Test is designed to detect the increase of luteinizing hormone (LH) and predict the time a woman is most able to become pregnant.
• Normally 1 or 2 days before the middle of each menstrual cycle the level of this hormone will increase suddenly (this is called the LH surge). Usually, an egg is released from the ovary 24-36 hours after the LH surge (this process is called ovulation). The released egg can only be fertilized during the next 24 hours.
• To maximize the chance of becoming pregnant, intercourse should take place within 2 days after the LH surge is detected.
